I used a limited palette of cerulean blue and transparent oxide red for this painting, focusing primarily on the value and intensity of the color combination. One of the interesting dilemma was how to handle his very thick-framed glasses that added much to his characteristics while not letting it dominate the painting.
Towards the end of the painting, I added indian yellow to mix the green background, a cigarette tucked over his ear and some highlights.
